This book in particular and this TYPE of book in general satisfy an important need: focus on specific subject matter with concise delivery at negligible cost. Johnson's short treatise is a good, efficient discussion of financial statements with one example of company analysis. Not what you'd call a deep dive, but it's well worth the time and money investment and the reader does not have time to zone out while reading. The primary downside - which almost cost a one-star downgrade - is that the lack of attention to grammar and proof-reading is annoying. Short, cheap, focused Kindle books are great but let's not make the language equivalent to Twitter or text messages.Product details

How to Read Analyze and Understand Financial Statements eBook James Johnson Reviews
Well written for those who aren't familiar with financials - Great resource for any educational environment or when working with clients. Thanks!
This short article/ essay on how to read, analyze and understand company financials does what it promises. With Nike as an example, the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement are analyzed and interpreted using common size statements and ratios. The depth of the text is a limitation but that is not really a mandate here.
This is a primer and it does the job.
Great read for your colleagues who need a handy understandable guide to financial statements! This combines what you need to know about finaincial statements with a guided tour through the financial staements of a well known company I'm sure you will be able to identify with. This theory-meets-the-rubber-on-the-road approach walked me through each step of the process.
Whereas this book describes financial terms it doesn't really provide you with a way to interpret them or put them in perspective.
I am a novice at financial analysis and this little book has been a lot of help. But for someone who wants to dig even deeper into the workings of corporate finance and valuation, I realized that there are many more resources out there to help me get a better and thorough understanding of financial reports. Buy the book if you are merely putting on a foot into the art of analyzing companies. Otherwise, find something else with thorough analysis and resources!
Good stuff
excellent
